Hypnobirthing Explained

Hypnobirthing easibirthing®

Hypnobirthing using the easibirthing® method is available in Kidderminster and the local area on a one-to-one basis with a qualified hypnotherapist.

Childbirth is a natural process that a woman's body is equipped for but for some it evokes feelings of fear and tension. Do you feel anxiety is stopping you from looking forward to your baby's birth?  Are you eager to experience a natural childbirth either at home or in hospital? Would you like to approach child birth feeling calm and confident?

easibirthing® at Breathe Holistic Therapy: designed for you.

Training is delivered over five sessions of one hour each which can also be booked as three longer sessions for your convenience. Five hours is recommended for the full course, but this is flexible to suit your time scale.  Both mum-to-be and her birth partner are encouraged to attend together although this is not essential.  easibirthing® is ideally commenced after around your 24th week of pregnancy. If, however, you pregnancy is more advanced this does not necessarily exclude you from starting hypnobirthing.

Easibirthing® empowers you to manage your own unique individual birthing experience without fear.  Through easibirthing® you will learn advanced self hypnosis, relaxation, visualisation and breathing techniques to prepare you body and mind for birth. Hypnosis for childbirth teaches skills for pain management and boosts your trust in your body, enabling you to approach labour feeling calm, confident and in control.  easibirthing® training can change your expectation of birth so it helps rather than hinders the natural process of childbirth. The techniques also enhance the whole experience of pregnancy and can be carried through to the post natal period and parenthood.

Women who approach labour feeling calm and confident are better able to enter the "flow" of the natural process. They become absorbed in the activity of giving birth paying undivided attention to the messages from their body, their instinct to birth their baby.

Hypnobirthing helps you to enter this birthing zone without being distracted by fear or negative expectations. Hypnosis harnesses the powerful mind-body connection;  a positive, relaxed state of mind sends signals to your body that labour is a natural process. Child birth is likely to be more comfortable and progress  well as the production of your body's natural painkillers and  labour hormones is enhanced.  There are many research studies that support the benefits of hypnosis for childbirth and highlight the importance of reducing anxiety and fear in childbirth.

easibirthing® can be used for all birthing situations; hospital or home and can also be beneficial for women who have a planned c-section. There are many hypnobirthing videos which demonstrate how unique and special each hypnobirth is.
